Vintage 18K mid-century Victorian Revival 6.30 carat sapphire and old mine cut halo ring

A stunning 18K gold and navy enamel ring with a GIA certified 6.30 carat natural sapphire trimmed in old mine cut diamonds. The cushion shaped sapphire is a periwinkle-almost-indigo blue. It sits like a little confection at the center of a distinguished old mine cut diamond halo, twenty-diamonds all told. The rectangular face is filled to the brim with sparkling gemstones and wee, talon-shaped prongs. The 18K yellow gold mounting is hand engraved with blue enamel accents in scallops around the face and arrows down the shoulders. The roomy under gallery has engraved details reminiscent of the Art Deco cocktail rings of the 1930s. En bref, this ring is a full dose of fun. It has the sparkle of the 1890s with the feel of the 1930s and the gravitas of the 1950s. I date this piece to the Victorian Revival Period, although the gemstones are a full generation (or two) older.
