Antique 1910s Edwardian 14K crescent moon necklace
A 1910s-1920s century pearl-dotted crescent moon, converted by us from a pin to a necklace! The crescent was a popular design element around the turn of the century, along with other celestial motifs. Small pins and pendants in the shape of stars, moons, and suns - often set with seed pearls or diamonds - were pretty pieces that appealed to Edwardian women of all ages. This little sliver of a moon is set with thirteen cultured pearls, slightly graduated in size. White gold tips create a sweet two-tone detail. Swinging stationary-style from a delicate gold fill cable link chain.
Measurements: 1.3 grams, moon 1 1/4" end to end, necklace 16.5"
Markings: 14K on the pin (now removed)
