Antique Georgian IN MEMORY OF 18K mourning band ring

A gentleman's Neo-Gothic Georgian-Era mourning ring in solid 18K gold with black enamel accents. The ring has a recessed middle with gothic letters in black enamel spelling out "IN MEMORY OF." The letters are spaced in groups of two, with decorative elements between the letters. The borders of the band are raised and enameled in six segments, a decorative trim typical of Gothic Revival mourning bands. This ring was most likely in stock at a Victorian jeweler's shop, waiting for an order from a customer to be finished, signed and hallmarked. The date letter on this piece is from 1795, but the engraved date is 1887: A mystery of timing! The engraving inside reads "J. Pearce, Dec. 30, 1887." Perfect round, wonderful condition with minimal loss to the enamel. This cannot be sized.

Shipping

Domestic: In-stock items ship within three days of purchase (usually within two!) via USPS. Our default is USPS Priority Mail unless your purchase is over $1,000, in which case we require USPS Express Mail + signature confirmation. Insurance is included with all domestic purchases.

International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
