Antique ca. 1830s rotating wax seal wheel with seven French intaglio seals
An all original Palais Royale-Era (ca. 1850s) wax seal wheel with seven exquisite seals. The seals - all in French - are etched in various colors of glass, including imitation amethyst, citrine, and chalcedony. Gilt or ormolu body.

There is wear to the seals consistent with age and use, but the condition is really quite outstanding and the seals are totally functional. This would have been the rotating component on a handled desk seal. Rotating wax seal wheels are increasingly rare and hard to find! This is a wonderful piece for a serious collector or a budding enthusiast.

Shipping
Domestic: In-stock items ship within three days of purchase (usually within two!) via USPS. Our default is USPS Priority Mail unless your purchase is over $1,000, in which case we require USPS Express Mail + signature confirmation. Insurance is included with all domestic purchases.
International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
