Antique Victorian Tiger Eye cameo ring with the Greek God ✶ SALE ✶

A magnificent Late Victorian Tiger Eye cameo ring depicting the Greek/Roman god Mercury/Hermes. Hermes was the god of messengers, boundaries, travelers, and athletes (among many things) and was himself a herald of the gods. He moved quickly between the human and divine worlds with the help of his winged accessories! While it is not unusual to see antique Tiger Eye rings - especially in signet/gentleman's styles - there are a few distinguishing features of this ring that make it special. First, we see a unique and unmistakable subject: The God Mercury/Hermes wearing his winged helmet. Secondly, we see him head-on rather than in profile. And thirdly, we see him rendered in exquisite detail and high relief. His cherubic face, youthful curls, and helmet are beautifully carved in the silky, color-shifting Tiger Eye. The rose gold mounting brings added warmth to the already rich, lustrous stone. Wonderful setting and pierced, comb-like shoulder details.

Shipping

Domestic: In-stock items ship within three days of purchase (usually within two!) via USPS. Our default is USPS Priority Mail unless your purchase is over $1,000, in which case we require USPS Express Mail + signature confirmation. Insurance is included with all domestic purchases.

International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
