ONLY ONE ∙ Cachet Collection Victorian reversible wax seal charm or ring

The Jean Jean "ONLY ONE" Cachet is in French and English with double-sided images and text as follows:

side 1 ∙ A shock of wheat with the phrase,"YOU OUGHT TO HAVE A GOOD THRASHING."
side 2 ∙ Cupid flying above a basket of flowers, with one in hand and the French "UNE SEUELE ME SUFFIT," or "One is enough for me."

Our newest cachet is bilingual, with one side in French and the other side in English. It has crisp details and substantial heft. We created this piece by combining two unique glass intaglios into one double-sided pendant. The grooved border on this piece is preserved from the original glass seals, which we love. 

This seal is a little bit naughty and a little bit nice! The neatly bundled shock of wheat waits for threshing time, when the wheat stalks will be flailed about to loosen the grain. Sent with a letter in the 1800s, this seal would have suggested that the reader deserved similar treatment! You can interpret this message as incredibly playful, incredibly flirtatious, or deliciously naughty.

On the other side of this piece we see Cupid flying above a basket overflowing with cut flowers. He has a single stem in his hand, chosen from the dozens on offer, and the French, "Une seule me suffit," or "One is enough for me." This romantic seal suggests that the greatest, most fulfilling love is found in intimacy with one person, and one person only. Although there many be many "fish in the sea" or "flowers in the basket," happiness is not to be found in multitudes but in one - the singular object of our devotion and affection. 

Note: We recommend a substantial chain for this piece, at least equal in weight to the pendant itself, to avoid chain breakage.
