Antique Victorian gold-filled locket with hair work and photograph

A mid-late Victorian locket of modest size with both a hidden hairwork compartment and a photo face. The photo shows a women in formal dress with a gorgeous headdress. The portrait is trimmed in a twisted gold frame and held under glass. This side has a hinging feature, perhaps once securing a further piece of glass. The other side of the locket has machined lid that rests flush to the locket and lifts to reveal a neat and beautifully woven plait of hairwork. Deeply cast foliate motif trim. This locket could be worn with either side facing out.

Shipping

Domestic: In-stock items ship within three days of purchase (usually within two!) via USPS. Our default is USPS Priority Mail unless your purchase is over $1,000, in which case we require USPS Express Mail + signature confirmation. Insurance is included with all domestic purchases.

International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
