Antique 1900s Victorian Wightman and Hough two-tone fleur-de-lys photo locket

A spectacular turn-of-the-century locket from the American locket maker Wightman & Hough. The company started in the mid-1800s and their last record dates to 1922. They were known for their lockets, which were widely advertised and widely loved. Their slogan was, "There's a heart in every locket!" - referring literally to their maker's mark, but also metaphorically to the sentimental nature of lockets themselves.

This round, gold fill locket has a two-tone yellow and green striped face with a rhinestone-set fleur-de-lys at the center. The verso is monogrammed "MDB" in pretty script. The locket hinges from the base to a tidy interior. Both picture rings are present and the original photos are still in situ. Closes with a tight "snap."

Shipping

Domestic: In-stock items ship within three days of purchase (usually within two!) via USPS. Our default is USPS Priority Mail unless your purchase is over $1,000, in which case we require USPS Express Mail + signature confirmation. Insurance is included with all domestic purchases.

International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
