Antique Victorian 1870s 20K Etruscan Revival drop earrings ✶ SALE ✶

A pair of 1870s Victorian Etruscan Revival gold sphere drop earrings with updated posts. This style of ball-drop earrings was popular during the 1870s, when Victorians enjoyed the revival of the art and jewelry of Ancient Etruria - a Classical Civilization that thrived before the Roman Empire. This jewelry is usually all-gold, sometimes partly polished and partly bloomed and always features intricate gold work, namely granular and twisted elements. These earrings have two marble-sized sphere drops, each one decorated with polished rose gold spade and club-shaped spokes. A pearl rests at the center of the decorative side. The spheres suspend from pearl-set findings. These would have been fitted with ear wires originally, but the previous owner updated them to post/tension backs.

Note: The gold has discolored to a rose-tone on one of the spheres, where heat was used to repair a small crack.

Shipping

Domestic: In-stock items ship within three days of purchase (usually within two!) via USPS. Our default is USPS Priority Mail unless your purchase is over $1,000, in which case we require USPS Express Mail + signature confirmation. Insurance is included with all domestic purchases.

International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
