Vintage 1930s Art Deco 14K white gold and diamond line bracelet

The delicate openwork links of this slim, sinuous bracelet are enhanced by three old European cut diamonds. The geometric pattern of the links exemplify the Art Deco style of the 1920s. Art Deco style evolved as a reaction against the Art Nouveau period. Art Nouveau jewelry (1880s-1910) was characterized by swirling, flowing lines, inspiration from nature and the female figure, and the use of soft colors. This style fell out of favor and was replaced by its opposite, Art Deco. Art Deco design represented modernization and the embracing of the machine age. Hard, geometric lines replaced the flowing lines of Art Nouveau. Abstract, geometric designs replaced representations of flowers and figures. Instead of fearing new technologies, designers embraced industrialization and the aesthetic of the machine age with streamlined skyscrapers, planes and trains informing the design of art and jewelry.

Shipping

Domestic: In-stock items ship within three days of purchase (usually within two!) via USPS. Our default is USPS Priority Mail unless your purchase is over $1,000, in which case we require USPS Express Mail + signature confirmation. Insurance is included with all domestic purchases.

International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
