Antique Victorian 1840s carnelian French wax seal signet ring
A romantic antique French signet ring etched with two cupids holding hearts on strings, the latter knotted together with the surrounding phrase, "L'amour nous rend inseparable," or “Love Makes Us Inseparable." The motto and tiny winged cupids are carved in carnelian and the detail is astonishing, right down to the tiny arrows in their tiny quivers! The carnelian intaglio measures a generous 3/4" north to south (18.5mm) and is 15.5mm wide, making the seal easy to appreciate without the need of magnification. The intaglio is set in a cutaway "pie crust" collet with with an open back. The mounting is a later addition but is era-appropriate, with split and reeded shoulders and shank. Ideal for stamping, wearing, and admiring!

Shipping
Domestic: In-stock items ship within three days of purchase (usually within two!) via USPS. Our default is USPS Priority Mail unless your purchase is over $1,000, in which case we require USPS Express Mail + signature confirmation. Insurance is included with all domestic purchases.
International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
