Vintage Art Deco 1930s 10K two-tone year ring
A two-tone year ring for the year 1935. This style of "date ring" simply identifies a year and - unlike class rings - offers no clue as to what was being commemorated. This one is especially pretty, with a yellow gold mounting and white gold cutaway year. A little engraved flower completes the design. The year 1935 was one of immense hardship for many people in the United States. It was the middle of The Great Depression, the second year of Roosevelt's New Deal programs, and the year of "Black Sunday," the most devastating dust storm of the dust bowl years in the Plains states. It is interesting to think about who may have worn this: I suspect that it was a young woman, probably someone born in the 1910s. A beautiful ring with a fascinating history!

International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
