Antique 1830s English Victorian 18K mourning ring with diamond flower
An 18K gold mourning ring from the first year of Queen Victoria's reign in 1838. The ring features the jointed-style shank with black enamel sections and Gothic script spelling out "IN ME MO RY OF" around the finger. The design of this ring is quite extraordinary with a shapely, crest-shaped face mounted with diamond flower. The flower is a Forget-Me-Not with petals and leaves rendered in rose cut diamonds. The absence of engravings, as well as an empty hair compartment behind the face, means that this ring was never "fashioned" or customized for a customer. Exquisite condition with full English hallmarks. This ring cannot be sized.
Measurements: Size 6 3/4 US, 3.3 grams
Era: Victorian, 1830s (1838)
