Vintage 1950s Henry Perichon gilt brass Renaissance Revival style pendant brooch
A rare and opulent piece from French designer Henry Perichon (1910-1971), who worked in Lyon making bespoke pieces for the Comédie Française, French cinema, Hollywood and private clients. The piece is a three-part brooch that may also be worn as a pendant: an upper (oval), a center (shield) and a faux pearl teardrop at the bottom. Perichon's work reminds me of some of the "Golden Age" pieces of Joseff of Hollywood here in the U.S. - statement "costume" pieces, often historically inspired and flawless in design. Perichon was inspired by the jewelry of the Renaissance and Baroque periods and favored materials like brass, glass, and other modest materials. This piece is gilt brass with granular details, peridot colored rhinestones and faux glass pearls. The painted nacre on the pearls has faded, leaving them a milky-white color. Overall condition is still lovely and the piece is a delight to wear. French trombone clasp. Comes with a 24" gold fill rope chain.

Domestic: In-stock items ship within three days of purchase (usually within two!) via USPS. Our default is USPS Priority Mail unless your purchase is over $1,000, in which case we require USPS Express Mail + signature confirmation. Insurance is included with all domestic purchases.
International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
