Antique 1830s Georgian 18K gold mourning ring with pearls and diamond
A Regency-Era mourning ring dedicated to a woman who died in 1832 at the age of 74 years old. "Mary Gibbons" and her death date (17th of May, 1832) are engraved in a pretty hand on the underside of the ring face, following the contour of the back of the ring face. The ring has English hallmarks for 18K gold, London assay and the date letter for 1832. The hallmark also includes the duty mark of King George IV, which was only in use from 1822-1832. The ring features forked shoulders with a climbing blossom and frilly golden greenery. The face of the ring has a cinquefoil flower with pearl petals and a diamond center. Outlined in black enamel with a grooved trim following the same shape. Likely once held a small glass-backed hairwork compartment, now absent. Evidence of sizing is limited to a small area of hallmark loss and a slight change in metal tone on the shank. The sizing was well done, and likely long ago. Outstanding condition for a nearly 200-year-old ring!

International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
