Vintage 1910s Halley's Comet locket lapel pin
A sweet and teeny-tiny locket pin with a deep glass-lidded compartment that holds and magnifies whatever is kept within. This could be a Halley's Comet piece, given the off-set of the design and the size of the pin. Halley's Comet jewelry was quite trendy around the 1835 and 1910 sightings (the 1986 sighting didn't produce anything noteworthy). Victorian and Edwardian jewelers were inspired by the comet and produced a style of pin set with a single stone (or compartment, in this case) trailed by a metal "tail." Whatever the intent with this design, it is a super piece. Bowed pin back to accommodate the body of the locket. "C" clasp. Low carat gold.

Domestic: In-stock items ship within three days of purchase (usually within two!) via USPS. Our default is USPS Priority Mail unless your purchase is over $1,000, in which case we require USPS Express Mail + signature confirmation. Insurance is included with all domestic purchases.
International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
