Vintage 1960s Jean Dinh Van for Cartier ball ring
A supremely rare Cartier + Jean Dinh Van ball ring in 18K gold and stainless steel. Cartier allowed Dinh Van the honor of co-signing his work for them, the first designer ever to have that privilege and one of only two in the history of the company. He designed extraordinary pieces for Cartier New York for a period of about ten years, beginning in 1967. This ring dates to that tenure and is extremely rare and collectible, given that it bears both the signature of Dinh Van and of Cartier. Perhaps one or two of these rings appear at market
every year or so. Stainless steel sphere, 18K yellow gold shank. Cartier #38050. Not exactly square, the shape of this shank is distinct from the earlier (Parisian-made) versions of this design (like Cartier #38046). A version of this ring is shown in "Dinh Van: Jewelry Sculptor" by Bérenice Geoffroy-Schneiter. Not sizeable.

International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
