Antique 1920s Art Deco .30 carat Old European Cut diamond engagement ring
A classic Art Deco 18K filigree solitaire ring set with a .30 carat Old European Cut diamond. The mounting of this ring is spectacular: die-cut with hand-sawn filigree and remarkable details up the shoulders and around the head. Within the intricate setting are two round brilliant cut diamonds on either side, weighing approximately 0.12 carat total. The .30 carat feature diamond has the dazzling "checkerboard" sparkle of an old cut stone with light and dark contrast across the facets. This stone has a high crown and the charming, chunkier proportions of diamonds cut during the beginning of the 20th century. It is perched high in the mounting with thistle-like details framing it.
This ring was made by Belais, a company founded by David Belais around 1918 in New York City. Belais was known for being an early pioneer in manufacturing white gold in America. White gold was a good alternative to platinum which was needed for World War I and II.

Domestic: In-stock items ship within three days of purchase (usually within two!) via USPS. Our default is USPS Priority Mail unless your purchase is over $1,000, in which case we require USPS Express Mail + signature confirmation. Insurance is included with all domestic purchases.
International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
