Antique 1880s Victorian Aesthetic Movement butterfly motif locket
A Victorian Aesthetic Movement locket with blossoms and a butterfly rendered in two-tones of gold on etched silver. This bracelet dates to the late 1800s, when Far Eastern influence in the visual arts - especially Japanese influence - was very strong. This scene shows a butterfly set to alight on a leafy branch, with yellow gold leaves and rose gold flowers. The stems and background are engraved, giving the design a nice contrast and low relief. The face of the locket is framed in rose gold. The verso is smooth save the engraving "EM." Hinges open and closes tightly. Original picture accessories - bezels, glass and even fabric inserts - all present. Excellent antique condition.

International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
