Antique Austro-Hungarian gold + silver old cut diamond droplet earrings in original box
A pair of sumptuous diamond drop earrings with hallmarks for Austria-Hungary. This pair dates to the turn of the century and suspends both old mine and old rose cut diamonds in silver-topped 14K gold. This short style of two-tone, diamond-set, drop earring was popular during the late 1800s and into the early 20th century. This design features flush-set diamonds in domed bezels at the top with a pear-shaped droplet swinging below. The bezel settings, as well as the concentric "floating" style of the terminating diamonds, are characteristic of this style of earring. Comfortable, lever-back or "dormeuse" style closure. Excellent antique condition with visible hallmarks for Pest, Hungary. These earrings come in their original box.
Note: These earrings come with a jewelry appraisal for insurance/replacement completed by a GIA Graduate Gemologist. The appraisal is set at $3000.
Measurements: 1 1/4" droplet, 3.8 grams
Diamond details: (4) Old European Cut diamonds, .70 CTW and (2) rose cut diamonds, .10 CTW, SI/G-H
Era: 1860s-1890s
Markings: Austro-Hungarian mark for small gold article, left-facing fox's head in cartouche with fineness (4) (580, or 14K) and RAO letter for Pest (merged with Buda to become Budapest in 1873), Hungary. Partial goldsmith mark also visible.

Domestic: In-stock items ship within three days of purchase (usually within two!) via USPS. Our default is USPS Priority Mail unless your purchase is over $1,000, in which case we require USPS Express Mail + signature confirmation. Insurance is included with all domestic purchases.
International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
