Antique 18K .35 carat VS1/H-I Old European Cut diamond and sapphire engagement ring
A stunning 18K Art Deco diamond engagement ring with callibré cut sapphires and peek-a-boo diamonds in the gallery. The diamond is a .35 carat Old European Cut with the prettiest starburst crown facets and spirited sparkle. The diamond is flush-set in a square head with docked corners. Graduated, synthetic sapphires (an exciting innovation at that time!) fill the shoulders, each one in their own fitted compartment. Hand engraved details along the gallery and two single cut diamonds complete the design. Truly a joy from every angle!
This ring was made by Belais Manufacturing Co., a company founded by David Belais in the 1910s in New York City. He spent nearly 30 years experimenting with various non-tarnishing alloys and eventually submitted his final "white gold" alloy for patent in 1918. Belais was nearly sixty-years-old when the patent was granted in 1920. White gold was a good alternative to platinum, which was needed for World War I and II.

Shipping
Domestic: In-stock items ship within three days of purchase (usually within two!) via USPS. Our default is USPS Priority Mail unless your purchase is over $1,000, in which case we require USPS Express Mail + signature confirmation. Insurance is included with all domestic purchases.
International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
