Antique Victorian 1840s French wax seal signet ring with modern shank ✶ SALE ✶

A Victorian intaglio wax seal ring showing Cupid undermining a heart and the French, "Peu à peu," or "Little by little." The intaglio is carved in carnelian and set in a handsome fob-style bezel with an open back. This is one of many "mottos and devices" cataloged in William Tassie's collection, published in 1830. We acquired this seal with its original frame but with the original fob component absent. We chose to pair it with a handsome mid-century band, half-round and trimmed in milgrain. Ring face measures 15.5mm x 20mm and the etching is crisp and wonderful: ideal for stamping, wearing, and admiring!

Shipping

Domestic: In-stock items ship within three days of purchase (usually within two!) via USPS. Our default is USPS Priority Mail unless your purchase is over $1,000, in which case we require USPS Express Mail + signature confirmation. Insurance is included with all domestic purchases.

International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
