Antique 1880s Victorian sterling silver Aesthetic Movement locket with book chain
A fantastic Late Victorian sterling silver locket and matching book chain, fully hallmarked and representative of the Aesthetic Movement. The chain has flat links alternating plain (smooth) and hand-engraved (ivy leaf). The links are connected with decorative, flat findings - pointed and pierced with openwork detail on one end. The chain secures to the long bail with a large spring ring clasp. The over-sized locket is wonderfully hand-engraved with a three-dimensional floral spray. Raised frame with "stitched" etching to accent and a further engraved trim reaching nearly to the edge of the locket. Verso is smooth. Both halves of the locket are hallmarked. Opens on the side to tidy, clean photo compartments. No glass fittings. Exquisite piece.
Note: The chain is unmarked but has been x-rayed and is confirmed sterling silver.

Shipping
Domestic: In-stock items ship within three days of purchase (usually within two!) via USPS. Our default is USPS Priority Mail unless your purchase is over $1,000, in which case we require USPS Express Mail + signature confirmation. Insurance is included with all domestic purchases.
International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
