Antique 1920s Ostby Barton 14K onyx and gold leaf filigree ring
A fabulous Art Deco onyx and gold leaf 14K filigree ring from Ostby & Barton. At the height of their powers (1910s-1930s) Ostby & Barton was the largest jewelry manufacturer in the country and the largest ring manufacturer in the world. Their Art Deco rings have long been favorites of mine, both costume and fine. Tragically, one of the founders - Englehart C. Ostby - died in the sinking of The Titanic in 1912. His daughter, also a passenger, survived. A macabre connection no doubt, but one that deepens the historical significance of the brand and tugs at the heart! This ring features a 13mm round onyx face inlaid with 14K gold leaf in the shape of a single blossom. The gallery has further blossoms in the filigree. Marvelous condition.

Domestic: In-stock items ship within three days of purchase (usually within two!) via USPS. Our default is USPS Priority Mail unless your purchase is over $1,000, in which case we require USPS Express Mail + signature confirmation. Insurance is included with all domestic purchases.
International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
