Antique 18th Century Dutch sealing wax case with armorial and monogram seals
A wonderful late 18th century sealing wax case with a hinged lid and two available seals, one with a family coat of arms and the other with a monogram device. The case is silver (likely around 800/1000) and Dutch in origin, with old city hallmarks for Amsterdam on the underside of the lid. The armorial seal shows a coat of arms with a chevron or "keper" shield, a coronet, and a bird as a crest. I have not been able to identify this Dutch family, but perhaps you can! The monogram is beautiful and stamps in a round, whereas the family coat of arms stamps with a square outline. Opens with the push of a tab. Spring loaded lid. Remnants of wax inside.
Measurements: 54 grams, 3 1/2" x 3/4"

Markings: Obscured date letter or maker's mark, Saint Andrew's Crosses for the city of Amsterdam

Shipping
Domestic: In-stock items ship within three days of purchase (usually within two!) via USPS. Our default is USPS Priority Mail unless your purchase is over $1,000, in which case we require USPS Express Mail + signature confirmation. Insurance is included with all domestic purchases.
International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
