Antique 1880s French 18K gold enamel Forget-Me-Not locket with monogrammed back

An exquisite Victorian Forget-Me-Not locket with French hallmarks for 18K gold. The oval locket features the hand engraving and enamel techniques of master craftsmen. The face of the locket is intricately detailed with milgrain, etched, and hammered textures to create a lively backdrop for the Forget-Me-Not flowers. The buds, blossoms, and greenery of the bouquet - a symbol of true love and remembrance - are done in vibrant shades of periwinkle, blue and green. The detail on the flowers and leaves is outstanding and the entire bunch seems to lift right off the surface of the locket - full of color and life. The verso of the buttery-toned locket is expertly monogrammed "MRD." The locket hinges open to a tidy interior and closes securely. Photo accessories are absent. The tapered bail is original and bears hallmarks for France and 18K. A collector's piece. Shown here with a solid 14K gold box chain (included).

Shipping

Domestic: In-stock items ship within three days of purchase (usually within two!) via USPS. Our default is USPS Priority Mail unless your purchase is over $1,000, in which case we require USPS Express Mail + signature confirmation. Insurance is included with all domestic purchases.

International: Default shipping is via USPS First Class International Mail unless the value of the parcel is $400 or more, in which case we default to USPS Priority Mail International shipping. Please allow 3–4 weeks for delivery. Insurance for international orders is available upon request and for an added fee.
